Meet Jay Tan, a 23-year-old personal trainer based in Johor with a story rooted in resilience, discipline, and transformation.
Growing up, Jay was small, skinny, and often mocked by classmates for his slim frame. Rather than accepting it, he made a decision that would shape the rest of his life — he started training. What began as a personal mission to build confidence gradually evolved into a lifelong passion for fitness. His athletic journey started early, with over 6 years of Taekwondo training and a medal at the 2019 Elite Taekwondo Championship in Sparring — a testament to his dedication and competitive spirit.
While pursuing his degree in Information Management in Taiwan, Jay balanced his studies with part-time work in the F&B industry. It was during his internship that he realized office life wasn’t the path for him. He wanted to be in a space where he could create real, visible change in people’s lives — and that led him to personal training.
Now holding an ACE-CPT certification, Jay specializes in muscle building and strength development. But beyond the physical results, what drives him most is helping people who are afraid to even step into a gym find their confidence and feel like they belong in that space.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by the gym, Jay gets it. He’s lived it. And he’s here to make sure you don’t have to figure it out alone.
